Royal Fashion Minute: Charlotte Casiraghi of Monaco in Gucci Equestrian

Fancy Riding...

Gucci Perfect: Charlotte Casiraghi, daughter of Princess Caroline of Hanover, Global Champion Tour 2011 Monte Carlo Monaco

For the second year in a row, the Italian Fashion House of Gucci and its Creative Director/Designer Frida Giannini has announced a collaboration with Princess Caroline of Hanover's model-GORGEOUS 24-year-old daughter, Charlotte Casiraghi.

Rider Chic: Charlotte Casiraghi in Gucci equestrian ensemble

This last week, she showed off her new Gucci ensembles at the Global Champion Tour 2011 in Monte Carlo Monaco--a week before her Uncle, Prince Albert's nuptials. Mommy--Princess Caroline of Hanover--was there to support her beautiful daughter.

Charlotte Casiraghi and Frida Giannini Creative Director of Gucci, 2010

Gucci, as you may know, has a long and very strong heritage of designing luxurious horse riding wear and so it makes sense. One of their iconic insignias are in fact the horse riding bits, which can be seen on many a Gucci shoe, purse, belt, and tie. Last year was the first year Giannini and Gucci collaborated with Casiraghi, using her as a style muse. Gucci riding pants, Gucci shirts and of course, Gucci riding boots.

So what does Charlotte think of the collection which was designed just for her? “I loved riding in the collection that Frida designed for me last year and I love this new wardrobe even more. It’s the best of sport and style.”

Who Wore It Better? Charlotte Casiraghi, Sara Carbonero or Lara Stone...in Gucci Spring 2011

Purple and Orange Fashion Test...Who Wore It Best?

Charlotte Casiraghi, daughter of Princess Caroline of Hanover, wearing Gucci Spring 2011

Grand-daughter of Princess Grace, Monaco's "little princess", Charlotte Casiraghi, wore the Gucci ensemble in Venice at a party offered by Francois Henri Pinault and his lovely wife, actress Salma Hayek in the Museum of Arts Palazzo Grassi, where the Exhibition “Il mondo vi appartiene” was inaugurated.

Paella Beauty: Spanish TV Presenter Sara Carbonero in Gucci Spring 2011Link
Spanish TV Presenter--and girlfriend of Spanish Goalkeeper Iker Casillas, Sara Carbonero (who was voted "The Sexiest Reporter in the World" by FHM). Sara is that person who supposedly distracted her boyfriend, Iker, during the 2010 FIFA World Cup, and made his team lose. Anyhow (back to the FASHION!!), she also wore the same look from Gucci's Spring 2011 Collection--at the TP de Oro Awards in Spain.

Back in February, Paris Vogue, put the dress on the cover--here above, featured on Supermodel Lara Stone--her of the Lauren Hutton tooth gap. WORK It Miss Stone!

Finally, WAAAY back in September of 2010, model Joan Smalls stomped the Milan Runway Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011, in the second look of the Gucci Spring/Summer 2011 Collection.

Who wore this look better? In my humble opinion I think Sara Carbonero wins this race. It is a sexy little outfit and Sara certainly has that covered. Charlotte is a stunning beauty but looks a bit as if the clothes are wearing her instead of visa versa. Let me know your thoughts kids...

Is The Train to Florence Here?: Gucci Fall/Winter 2011

It's Milan Fashion Week kids. I discussed my Highlights of NY Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2011 these last couple of weeks as well as Madrid and London Fashion Week Postings HERE and HERE. And so the fashion catwalk continues...For Gucci's 90th Anniversary (90th!!!), Designer Frida Giannini went 70's Glam showing PLUNGING necklines, lots of luxe fur, flowing silk chiffon "Disco" dresses, culottes, silk half-circle skirts and Fedoras. The models can only be described as having a Can-Someone-Tell-Me-Where-My-Driver-Is Attitude that looked chic, effortless and yet Bitchy at the same time: Love it! Colors were no-holds-barred VIBRANT: Chartreuse, bubblegum pink fuchsias, deep violets, lipstick reds. You want Black,? Look somewhere else girls.

Giannini said she was inspired by Anjelica Huston, among other things. I can see it: The Styling and look of the collection reminded me of the Style Icon, especially from a 1970's "snapshot" of her with Jack Nicholson; the slicked hair, the red lips, the I-just-threw-this-on fur...that decolletage! Here are some Highlights...including the Shoes and Purse You Need To Have, come this Fall...

Prada Fall/Winter 2011:

Color Blocked: Italian Supermodel Mariacarla Boscono Prada Fall/Winter 2011

Miucca Prada unveiled her Fall/Winter 2011 Prada Collection, and of course it had all the Prada "stamps": Kitschy "Thrift Store Couture" looks, boxy 60's shapes, bag-lady chic prints and We-Need-To-Have accessories. It was all very Courreges-meets-Paco Rabanne in a way.

Marcia Marcia: Prada Fall/Winter 2011

Yes, there were 60's influences, but there were also 1920's "Amelia Earhart"-meets-early 70's looks a la Marcia Brady looks as well, with those drop-waist dresses above and below...

Drop-That-Belt: Prada Fall/Winter 2011

There was also an overt nod to THE Master: Yves Saint Laurent, and his iconic 1965 Mondrian dress above.

Also evident in the just-unveiled Prada Fall/Winter 2011 Collection: Lots of Croq-skin. In luxurious colorful drop-shoulder boxy coats as well as...

These ankle-grazing shoe-boots that EVERY Fashion-Girl will risk not paying her next months rent for. I would! Just sayin'

Fish Scale Cocktail: Prada Fall/Winter 2011

For evening: Neon colors and over-sized paillettes and long fuzzy fur. As is usual with the House of Prada, there were NO GOWNS, but that doesn't mean that we might not see one or two Custom Prada Gowns at the Academy Awards Red Carpet this Sunday!

And finally: May I show you THE Must-Have Prada Sunglasses for your next trip to the Italian-Swiss Alps this coming Winter. Time to put my early order in! Watch FULL Prada Fall/Winter 2011 Runway Show:
