Mum's desperate plea for respite services, Australia

A Hobart woman says she is on the verge of handing her severely disabled twins boys over to Child Services, because of a lack of disability respite.

One of Anne White's six year old twins has autism, the other Down's Syndrome.

The boys are not toilet trained, can not communicate and are violent in each other's company.

Mrs White says she can only get three hours a week in home respite care and can no longer cope.

She is considering relinquishing care of the twins.

"I really don't want to go there, but I need to do what's best for the boys," she said.
