Canberra egg farm ransacked, equipment destroyed, Australia

An egg farm in West Belconnen has been broken into overnight and its production equipment largely destroyed.

Police say the offenders broke into the Parkwood egg farm in Macgregor sometime between 11:00 pm AEDT and early this morning.

They smashed glass in the office area, cut conveyor belts, smashed control equipment and damaged egg packaging.

Production at the farm is likely to be significantly stalled as a result of the damage.

Police are also investigating a link between the burglary and the posting of an internet message and video, claiming responsibility for the offence. Read More
