West Midlands Police Battle to Safe Woman in her 80's who is trapped in a house with a man who has a knife.



Police negotiators are trying to save a woman in her 80s who is trapped in a house with a man who has a knife.

Specialist officers from West Midlands police have been at the house near Oldbury for several hours.

They were called to the scene on Sunday morning and believe it is a domestic incident.The area around the house has been cordoned off.

Chief Supintendent Phil Kay said: "Police made further enquiries which confirmed that a man, aged in his 40s, was also inside the property, on Perry Hill Road, and was armed with a knife. At this stage the incident is believed to be domestic related.

"Specialist officers, including force negotiators, remain at the scene this evening as they continue to try and bring the situation to a safe and peaceful resolution."

Several roads have been closed nearby to allow the emergency services to continue with negotiations.
