Kimberley Frank and Samantha Sykes found Murdered in a Flat, Wakefield, West Yorkshire: 19 Year old Man being questioned

Police investigating the deaths of two young women in Wakefield have said they were stabbed to death.

The bodies of Kimberley Frank, 17 and Samantha Sykes, 18, were found at a flat in the Eastmoor area of the town in West Yorkshire.

Police said a 19-year-old man is continuing to be questioned in connection with the murders, but a 19-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man have been released without charge.

The bodies of Miss Frank, of Barden Road, Eastmoor, and Miss Sykes, of California Drive, Horbury, West Yorkshire, were found in the first floor property on Saturday morning.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said on Sunday evening: "A post-mortem carried out this evening has revealed that they died as the result of stab wounds."

Officers were called to Barden Road after they were contacted by Kent Police.

They said a 19-year-old woman in Dover had raised concerns for the safety of the two women.

Their bodies were found after the flat was searched by West Yorkshire officers. Source
